BBC News School Report gives 11-14 year-old students in the UK the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience.

Using ideas and resources from the BBC website, students develop their journalistic skills to become School Reporters. On March 26th some students from Scaltback, St Felix and Newmarket College took part in the national day. The day itself was frantic but creative and we managed to create a news website and get it up online by 4.00pm on the day. The website can be accessed via the school website and includes reports, video reports, stories and interviews with Dr Cadwalladr and Richard Spring MP.

Students went in to Newmarket to canvass opinion on the new road layout and were given some very candid replies. St Felix wrote about their new school and their experiences since a fire destroyed their original school last Summer. The whole package was assembled by some very able technical students who then converted the material into a website. Well done all who took part and thank you.
