Charity Concert by Talented Students

On the evening of Saturday 25th April 2008 students from Newmarket College arranged, produced and performed a Charity Concert, raising over £400 for Teenage Cancer Trust.

The evening was a resounding success and, we hope, the forerunner of many more such events. Dr Cadwalladr, Principal, said the evening was amazing and that he was very proud of what the students had achieved in so short a time.

Elspeth Brown and Sarah Farrar worked very hard with students from all years, over several weeks, putting together a comprehensive programme of entertainment, ranging from woodwind ensembles to a rock band.

They performed numbers such as 'I Believe', Whitney Houston's 'One Moment in Time', music from Mamma Mia, Cold Play, Leonard Bernstein and many more.

David Goodman, who has been helping coach the music students over recent months, sorted out the lighting and sound at the students' behest said that 'he was very impressed by the professionalism and hard work put in by the students to create such a successful evening'.
