Two years ago, Newmarket College went back to the fifties with a superb performance of Grease, followed last year by going back to the forties and a dynamic version of South Pacific. This year they surpassed themselves and offered an amazing production of 'BACK TO THE EIGHTIES' .
Back to the Eighties took you on a journey back to a time when Michael Jackson and Rick Astley were the Kings of Pop, before laptops and mobile phones were a 'must have' accessory, the time of Live Aid for Africa. Out of this came a really awesome musical; as we joined William Ocean High School's senior year. We lived through the hopes, the dreams, the loves and heartbreaks of the students as they regaled us with high action dance routines, and songs from Wham, Cyndi Lauper and Madonna.
Back to the Eighties was first performed in Australia in 2002 and since then has been seen all over the world, from the USA to Malaysia and now Newmarket. What a fantastic performance it was! WELL DONE to all students and staff involved!
