House News

At Newmarket College we operate a vertical tutor system with four different houses. This allows students of different ages to get to know and support each other through the House system. Each house is named after a precious stone; Amber, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire. As well weekly House assemblies, students are encouraged to enter the various house competitions and events which are organised throughout the year. Highlights of the year include the 'House Shout' at the end of the autumn term and the annual sports day when students are encouraged to dress in House colours.

Charity fundraising is a big part of our House system . We are supporting the following charities:-

Amber House - MacMillan Cancer Support
Emerald House - Little Princess Trust
Ruby House - St Nicholas Hospice
Sapphire- Art Equipment Project - School in Delhi
